How we earn, and why it never changes what we recommend.

Last updated: October 21, 2026

MyShopperBuddy is operated by My Shopper Buddy LLC, McKinney, Texas. We are an independent shopping guide, and we are funded in three ways. This page explains each one in plain language, in line with the FTC’s guidance on endorsements and affiliate relationships.

1. Amazon affiliate links

As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Product cards marked “Amazon” and our picks pages (such as Trending on Amazon) link to Amazon.com with our Associates tag attached. If you click one of those links and buy something on Amazon — the product we showed or anything else in that session — Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is the same with or without our link.

Prices, availability and product details on those cards come from Amazon’s Creators/Product Advertising API or from our own curation and are shown with the time they were last checked. Amazon’s product page is the source of truth at checkout; Amazon handles payment, shipping, returns and customer service for those orders.

2. eBay affiliate links

Cards marked “eBay” link to eBay listings through the eBay Partner Network. If you buy after clicking, eBay pays us a commission. As with Amazon, your price is unchanged and the purchase is completed on eBay under eBay’s terms and buyer protection.

3. Products we sell directly

Spice and pantry products marked “Sold by MyShopperBuddy” are bought on this site and shipped by us from McKinney, Texas. We earn the margin between what we pay our partner brands — Spicy Organic, Spicy Pantry and Flavoric — and the price you pay. Those orders are covered by our own shipping and returns policies, and the legal seller is named on your receipt.

What does not influence our recommendations

  • Commission rates. Amazon pays different rates by category; those rates are never an input to Buddy’s answers or to our popularity scores.
  • Whether a product is one we sell. Buddy shows retailer and partner-brand options side by side and tells you which is which.
  • Partner brands. They do not review, approve or pay for placement in our content.

Our full standards are in the editorial policy.

How to tell which kind of link you are clicking

Every retailer card shows the retailer’s name and a “Buy on Amazon” / “Buy on eBay” button; those links carry rel="sponsored" so search engines treat them correctly too. Products we sell show an “Add to cart” button and “Sold by MyShopperBuddy”. A disclosure strip also appears at the top of every page.
