Buddy Scouts

Find better deals. Share what you discover. Help everyone shop smarter.

1. Scout

Spot a real price worth sharing on Amazon, eBay or MyShopperBuddy and post the product link.

2. Verify

Staff open the link, confirm the price and record what they checked. Nothing is published unverified.

3. Earn Buddy Rewards

Approved deals earn points and badges. Upvotes from other members add more. Points are recognition — no cash value.

Community rules

  • Post product pages with real, current prices. No search results, no expired codes.
  • Disclose any connection to the seller. Self-promotion is declined.
  • Be useful in comments: stock, coupons, sizes, alternatives. No personal attacks.
  • One account per person. Vote on deals, not on friends.
  • Staff decisions on verification are final; you can always resubmit with better evidence.

Buddy Scouts — questions

What is Buddy Scouts?

A community of shoppers who share deals they find on Amazon, eBay and MyShopperBuddy. Every submission is checked by MyShopperBuddy staff before it is published, so what you see on the deals page is verified, not just posted.

What are Buddy Rewards?

Reputation points for contributing: 5 for joining, 2 for your first submission, 25 for each deal that is approved and 1 each time another member upvotes your deal. Points and badges show who the best scouts are. They have no cash, gift-card or purchase value and cannot be redeemed.

Do I earn money from deals I post?

No. Amazon and other affiliate programs do not permit sharing commissions or rewarding purchases, and we follow those rules. MyShopperBuddy earns a commission when someone buys through a verified deal link; members earn recognition.

How are deals verified?

A staff member opens the product link, confirms the current price and any coupon, strips tracking codes, and records what they checked. That note is shown on every deal page. A “was” price appears only when our own price history recorded the higher price.

What happens to duplicates or expired deals?

If the same product was posted in the last 30 days, the newer post is merged unless it is a better price. Deals are marked expired when the price ends, and expired deals stay visible but are clearly labelled.

Can I post my own products or a store I work for?

Not without disclosing it. Self-promotional submissions are declined, and anything sponsored is labelled “Sponsored” on the page.

Will there be paid work for contributors?

Possibly, later: MyShopperBuddy plans separately commissioned research assignments (fixed-fee product testing and write-ups) for proven contributors. They will never depend on clicks, sales or positive reviews, and they are not part of Buddy Rewards points.
