Spicy Pantry Celery Seeds: 4 oz to 5 lb for Pickling, Brines and Bloody Marys

About this product

Start with the recipes: celery seeds are a natural fit for pickles, brines, Bloody Marys and savory seasoning blends. Spicy Pantry describes them as concentrated celery flavor with a touch of bitterness and a subtle crunch, which is handy when you want celery character without chopping stalks. Because the flavor is concentrated, they suit dishes where you want a savory backbone more than a loud spice kick.

Choosing a size is the main decision. The 4 oz pouch suits a first try or an occasional jar of pickles. The 12 oz covers regular weeknight cooking. The 2 lb and 5 lb sizes make sense if you brine in batches or mix your own blends often, which is where bulk celery seeds for home kitchens tend to pay off. Every size ships in a resealable stand-up kraft pouch, and the product is listed as Non-GMO.

How to use and store

• Add to pickling jars and brines with the rest of your whole spices, and taste as you go since the flavor is concentrated.
• Stir into Bloody Mary mixes or savory blends when you want a celery note without fresh stalks.
• Reseal the pouch after each use and decant a small amount into a shaker if you bought a 2 lb or 5 lb size.
